Power That Unearths New Space for Mining Operation
$15,000 savings with compact motor control center.
A mining operation in Turkey needed a low voltage switchgear (SWGR) solution, but found that fitting traditionally larger switchgear panels into confined and constricted operational space used up valuable real estate needed for other critical equipment.
GE application engineers worked with a regional panel builder to uncover a solution using a custom motor control center. This custom approach has a 20 percent higher density, offers 30 percent more wire space, and features 60 percent fewer parts – which adds up to an overall space savings of approximately 10 meters per line compared with traditional switch gear solutions.
With overall operational cost and space savings, GE’s panel builder customer secured a major new order and built an ongoing customer relationship.
