History
GE acquired Power Maintenance International (PMI), the largest multi-vendor service business in the critical power protection industry, in July of 2001. Through this acquisition, GE has created a new business known as GE Global Services.
GE Global Services specializes in the preventive and remedial maintenance services of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, stationary battery systems, and battery chargers. In addition to our outstanding services, GE Global Services offers UPS and battery sales, as well as thermographic inspection services. Whatever your power service needs, GE Global Services offers a solution.
Growth
GE attention to quality service has resulted in successful business growth. GE Global Services now has offices from coast to coast servicing many of America's Fortune 500 companies. Through this growth, GE has been able to expand its service capabilities to include power conditioning equipment, power distribution units, battery chargers, and battery plant installation.

Facilities and Resources
GE Global Services has a centralized 53,000-square-foot facility located in Rockwall, Texas and in Riazzino, Switzerland, which houses the management staff, a computerized business management system, training and testing labs, and an extensive spare parts inventory (as a backup for the regional service centers' parts depots).
GE personnel have a minimum of five years of technical experience on a wide variety of UPS, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), batteries, and battery chargers. GE Global Services field engineers are factory trained in their field of expertise. In addition, Global Services conducts formal classroom and special product update training, enabling GE to provide the most professional field engineers in the industry. (Global Services training classes are certified by the Texas College Coordinating Board.)

Thus, the potential for conflict of interest between a field engineer's loyalty to one vendor and the client's hardware is virtually eliminated. Global Services and ISO 9000
GE Global Services is currently pursuing certification to the International Organization of Standards (ISO) 9001 standard. Global Services is seeking this certification because it is a widely recognized "seal of approval" that lets customers know we are serious about quality.
