SymDec introduces “hybrid” recording that works with both conventional analogue cameras and the new family of GE digital network products. This unique platform provides a graceful migration path to digital recording – the future of video recording – and at the same time allows continued use of existing analogue equipment.

Outstanding Features

SymDec incorporates virtual Triplex functionality for simultaneous viewing, playback, and recording of video. It offers either four channels of analogue recording, one channel of digital recording and one channel of SpeedStream™ recording, or up to five digital streaming channels over IP all at D1 resolution (720 x 576). Using SpeedStream, users can stream a quadview of the four analogue inputs to reduce network bandwidth.

SymDec can be easily networked and viewed remotely via 10/100Base-T Ethernet. The recorders utilize Dynamic IP Addressing (DHCP) and support Dynamic Domain Name Server (DDNS). GE Security's SymNav Software allows viewing of live and recorded video from multiple SymDec units.

In addition, SymDec includes full search capabilities by time, date and hardwired alarms, and each unit features alarm handling with a history log and alarm notification via email.
