Award-Winning Year for Industrial Solutions Marketing
The Global Marketing Team at GE Energy's Industrial Solutions business had a successful and rewarding year in 2011, with extensive recognition from customers, the media and GE Corporate for designing and executing impactful and engaging marketing programs.
The team won accolades and awards for a wide array of programs and products, including promotional tours, virtual trade shows, print campaigns, advertisements, community outreach and the automation of lead-generation processes.
"The exceptional marketing events of the past year and the world-class initiatives led by the Industrial Solutions team have solidified our position as the global leader of the electrical energy industry," said Sergio Corbo, chief marketing officer of GE Energy's Industrial Solutions business. "We are excited and proud to be contributing to the growth and success of our customers and business partners."
Last year, the Global Marketing Team determined that many customers wanted to learn about GE Energy's solutions in person, so the team developed a concept of bringing solutions and experts right to the customers' worksite through the "Odyssey Tour."
In 2011, the Odyssey Tour brought GE's latest electrical technology to the doorsteps of many of GE Energy's North American customers in a large trailer packed with product displays. We visited over 200 customers and generated a lot of interest in our industrial service, aftermarket and equipment offering.
In October, GE Corporate held its annual Digital Summit in San Jose, Calif., with representatives of every GE business, 12 different countries, and two joint venture partnerships (Hyundai and BAY). The agenda featured presentations by senior executives from companies that included LinkedIn, eMarketer, salesforce.com and Federated Media.
At the Digital Summit, the Industrial Solutions Marketing Team received awards for conducting successful virtual trade shows and automating program-to-lead processes. "This is the first time the GE Digital Team has recognized businesses in this way," said Rachel Dorman, digital marketing leader for Industrial Solutions. "Being honored with two GE Digital Team awards and recognized among the best in GE has been very exciting for our group."
Also in October, Affiliated Distributors (AD), a professional association for independent distributors, honored GE Energy's Industrial Solutions business as the Supplier of the Year for Marketing Excellence and Planning Strategy. The award, presented at a Las Vegas conference of nearly 2,000 North American distributor principals, recognized the NPI EV Charger Distributor Training campaign and the Work Hard Play Hard customer loyalty kits. The award was based on the success that AD affiliates have experienced in using the GE Energy marketing portfolio.
Most recently, The Electrical Distributor magazine's Best of the Best awards program honored Industrial Solutions with marketing excellence and creativity in two categories: Best Print Campaign for GE's "Easy" advertisements, and Public Relations & Community Outreach for GE's Anti-Counterfeit Initiative.
The Electrical Distributor is a business media channel in print and digital that touches over 25,000 distributors in varying roles, primarily in North America.
