TP-1 sets new standards for efficiency.
GE sets new standards for quality.

Effective January 1, 2007 a new federal law prohibits manufacturers of low-voltage, dry-type distribution transformers from producing transformers 15kVA or larger, that do not meet the NEMA TP-1-2002 standards for energy efficiency. The law applies to all low-voltage dry-type transformers with an output voltage of 600V or less, intended for installation in the fifty United States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Transformers manufactured before January 1, 2007 that do not meet the NEMA TP-1-2002 standards may still be sold, shipped, and installed after January 1, 2007.

THE GOOD NEWS
ENERGY STARAll TP-1 transformers are ENERGY STAR® rated which means not only are they good for the environment in terms of less pollution... but over the life of the transformer, its efficiency will save you money. How much you ask? Visit the ENERGY STAR website to learn more and use the Transformer Efficiency Calculator to determine specific savings scenarios for your project.

You can count on GE to be 100% compliant with all the requirements of the new law. More importantly we've used this opportunity to redesign all of our transformers to be not only efficient, but also up to 10dB quieter than before.

THE BEST NEWS
GE's been making transformers since the 1920's so you can count on experience and innovation across the full line of transformers including the GE exclusive Transformore™ transformers. This next generation transformer looks and operates differently than its predecessors, because it was designed to be 30% smaller and 40% lighter. View comparison diagram

Additionally, it includes more safety features (i.e. overheat alerts) and provides up to 30 years of reliable performance.
