White Paper: Abstract - On SPD types commonly referred to as transient Voltage Surge Suppressors (TVSS) that are intended for use at locations on the load side of the primary overcurrent disconnect or main breaker of the electrical distribution system.
This paper is provided to demonstrate the effects associated with cabling Transient Voltage Surge Suppressors (TVSS). The ramifications of conductor type and length can be significant due to the added impedance they impose on the surge path.
4 pages. This paper will serve as a refresher in describing some of the key changes to the UL 1449 3rd Edition standard and will describe how they impact the installation requirements for lightning protection systems for electrical distribution systems under 1000 volts.
