GE’s Compact Power Line High-Efficiency Rectifier

May 14, 2015
With an efficiency of 95.6 percent, GE’s new CP3000AC54TE-F Rectifier with front input connector provides significant efficiency improvements in the company’s compact power line platform. It can handle AC inputs of 120, 208 or 240 volts and provides 48 volts output. The new rectifier features a compact 1U form factor and provides constant Power over Ethernet (PoE)-compliant power from 52-58 volts. Its high-density front-to-back airflow is designed for minimal space utilization and is highly expandable for future growth. The wide-input standard product is designed to be deployed internationally. GE’s CP3000AC54TE-F rectifier moves the input connector from the back of the unit to the front, meeting the needs of customers with embedded front-end power applications where rear power entry is often undesirable or even impossible. The new rectifier also provides 2,250-volts of isolation as required by enterprise-driven PoE solutions.
The new rectifier complements—and is slot swappable with—GE’s CP2500DC45PE-F DC/DC Converter, together providing comprehensive solutions for systems connected either to commercial AC mains, 48/60-volt power plants or telecom central officers. Ideal applications include 48-volt distributed power architectures, routers/switches, VoIP/soft switches, LAN/WAN/MAN applications, file servers, indoor wireless, telecommunications equipment, enterprise networks and SAN/NAS/iSCSI applications. Feature set flexibility also makes this rectifier an excellent choice for applications requiring modular AC-to-DC intermediate voltages such as in distributed power.
