ABB is an approved power partner for Xilinx® FPGAs. We work closely with Xilinx®  to develop proven power solutions for Xilinx® FPGA applications. ABB power modules can be used across all Xilinx® FPGA and SoC product families and for Xilinx® newest 16nm Ultrascale+ FPGAs helpful reference designs are provided on this site.


Our comprehensive family of power modules (POLs) meets the stringent FPGA voltage requirements for power rails from 2A to over 300A with high efficiency and excellent thermal derating. Virtex Ultrascale+™

ABB offers cost effective, dense, high performance POL(Point of Load) modules to meet the power, voltage and transient requirements of Virtex Rails. These modules have been designed and tested for both best in class efficiency and thermal performance. A wide portfolio of modules helps users achieve an optimum match between load, module capacity and desired feature set.
 
In the following selection chart, higher current rails have been mapped to digital modules in the ABB portfolio. All modules used in the reference designs use a negative logic architecture for implementing analog ON/OFF control. Positive Logic modules are also available. Contact your ABB representative for options other than those shown.

(1)   If VCCINT and VCCINT_IO rails have same voltage, they can be combined. In this case only one module is needed and it may have to be of higher max current than shown in table below. Please refere to design guidelines document for the FPGA in question.
